Dr. Rao is an alumnus of JJMMC, Davangere and KMC, Manipal. Holds FRCS from Glasgow, UK and specialised in Surgical Retina from Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai.
Being a son of a farmer, Dr. Rao got exposure to many aspects of life at a very early stage. The difficulties faced by common people with respect to basics of life such as food, education and healthcare motivated him to pursue Medicine as career. Since his early days of Medical Education, he dreamt of connecting with the people by providing the best possible healthcare services to people. He chose the path of offering super speciality eye care services for all the people who are in need. Bangalore Nethralaya was established in 2007 with the idea of serving human beings with due focus on service, quality, ethics with affordability.
At Bangalore Nethralaya, as Managing Director & Chairman, Dr. Rao drives Mission and Vision with which the hospital was formed. With 11th year of service, he is poised for growth and development in offering eye care services. Tertiary Eye Care, connect with the Community & Mobile Eye Clinic are the successful services already in place. He is an eternal optimist and has been a role model to many Ophthalmologists who were hesitant to carry out private practise. Continuing this saga, he is working on the project of building next generation Ophthalmologists and there by contributing to Eye Care Services globally in a positive way.
